MENTAL HEALTH SERVICE FOR ASIAN WOMEN

Mashriq Challenge Resource Centre was founded in November 2004. It was set up by a small group of people, who had been working in various roles within the community. MCRC is a Company Limited by Guarantee Non-Profit Organisation. It is also User Led Organisation (ULO) which means the service users are also board members.

The Organisation was formed in response to a chronic shortage of emotional well-being and care for women from the Asian and Ethnic minority communities and cultures.
It has gone strength to strength and has a wide variety of services available.

Winner of many awards and nominations including RipFa (Research in Practice for Adults) Caring for Adults award winner 2008, Nominee for Grassroots Award 2009.

Women are provided with education, training and sensitive support through services such as counselling and life skill lessons.

MCRC are also working closely and directly with Adults and Communities Directorate
MCRC have worked in partnership Be Birmingham, BVSC, and also Open-Doors.

MCRC have successfully completed the Be Well Project.
